Lottery committee sets 20- and 5‑day acceptance windows and clarifies wait-list timing

Members pointed to existing practices at Discovery, which staff said uses "20 days to accept or decline the seat" for early childhood placements and shorter windows for later grade offers. "I added as the 4th paragraph, 20 calendar days to accept lottery acceptance after the 1st pull," the chair said, asking staff to insert clear calendar‑day language in the draft policy to remove ambiguity about business days versus calendar days.

Committee members asked staff to place the detailed timing in a waiting-list section so that operational procedures can be updated without repeatedly amending policy; staff agreed to include explicit calendar-day wording and cite the current Discovery practice as an example.
