Meeting roundup: unanimous approvals on minutes, purchases, appointments and adjournment

The Board of Fire Commissioners & EMS voted unanimously on a series of routine items at its July 9, 2026 meeting. Actions approved by unanimous vote among members present (John Campbell, Michael Castelli, Sean Fogarty and James Koser) included approval of the June 11, 2026 minutes; acceptance of the Fire Marshal report; release of S. Kinkade from the active Deputy Fire Marshal roster; appointment of P. Scully Jr. to Deputy Fire Marshal; award of a $149,829.86 radios contract to Goosetown Communications; award of a $31,495.02 alarm-system replacement to Berkshire Alarm of Litchfield (Town capital share $30,000; BFC covers $1,495.02); approval of a Zeller Tire quote for $15,997.52 for apparatus tires; and adjournment at 5:19 p.m.

Several items will be presented to the Board of Selectmen on July 21, 2026 for follow-up, including the deputy roster release, P. Scully’s appointment, the radio and alarm awards, and the building-permit fee-waiver request for the alarm installation. A Waterbury Republican invoice for $132.45 related to the alarm bid advertisement will be forwarded to Town Finance for payment.
