Tusayan’s 2027 capital program lists emergency siren, trails, Town Hall and sports complex among prioritized projects

Tusayan staff presented a multi-fund capital program for 2027 that includes both smaller one-year projects and several large, separate multi-year projects. Notable one-year items listed in the Capital Improvement Fund include a trail system allocation of $209,390 (including a $150,000 grant), an emergency warning siren budgeted at $650,000 (including a $500,000 grant), pedestrian crossing scoping at $90,000 (including an ~$84,870 grant), and equipment such as a new truck ($60,000) and accounting software ($70,000).

Separately budgeted major projects include Flood Mitigation (~$9 million in 2027, largely grant-funded with a $500,000 Town match and additional easement costs), Town Hall (planning/design $546,000 and larger construction phases referenced with potential bond proceeds), and a Sports Complex (~$7.5 million in 2027). Staff explained significant portions of these projects are contingent on grants and bond proceeds and that the General Fund would provide required local matches and some transfers.
