Tusayan’s HURF fund shows $452,415 anticipated inflows; town budgets equipment and public works outlays

Finance staff presented a HURF (Highway User Revenue Fund) summary showing anticipated inflows of $452,415 for 2026, projected operating expenditures around $99,706 and capital outlay of about $138,000 (including a Bobcat purchase and related work). The 2026 projection results in a fund balance increase of $256,841, largely attributable to a budgeted transfer from the General Fund combined with some capital items not expected to occur in the year.

For 2027 the HURF section of the draft budget assumes a $50,000 transfer from the General Fund and anticipates total outflows just under $200,000 with an estimated ending fund balance of about $212,936. Staff noted the $50,000 transfer is adjustable depending on Council priorities.
