Keystone Heights committee approves amended scoring sheet for auditor RFP

The Keystone Heights Auditor Review Committee voted May 1 to approve an amended evaluator scoring sheet for the city's request for proposals for audit services. Chair (speaker 1) opened the vote after members agreed changes during a page-by-page review.

"I would entertain a motion for for approval of the, RFP as, as, with the changes that have been addressed today in our meeting," the Chair said before the motion carried. The committee recorded the measure as approved by voice vote: "The ayes have it."

The approved scoring sheet reallocates the evaluation points to emphasize audit personnel and engagement management: ability of personnel (35 points), firm experience (15 points), engagement management/ability to furnish services (25 points) and cost (25 points). Members said the change was intended to avoid making price the overriding criterion and to prioritize timely, competent audits.

Committee staff will include the revised scoring sheet language in the RFP and return a final draft to the committee for review and any legal edits before advertisement. The committee set internal deadlines for staff to circulate the final draft for comment and to begin advertising once legal sufficiency is confirmed.
