Town enacts temporary moratorium on drone delivery; staff to draft regulations

Town council has enacted a temporary moratorium on drone delivery, Planning Commission liaison Brad Bolland told commissioners July 23, and staff will use the pause to define appropriate land-use categories and design standards.

"The town actually, did a, enacted a moratorium on drone delivery," Bolland said, and he added that staff will develop proposed regulations to bring before the planning commission for recommendation and then to town council. Bolland framed the moratorium as a pause to consider whether and how drone delivery should be governed under zoning and design rules.
