Town authorizes up to $25,500 for Meadowbrook Park playground installation

Thurman Blanchard presented three quotes for installation of playground equipment at Meadowbrook Park and recommended Great Lakes Recreation, LLC perform the work. He requested an amount of $25,500 to include a 15% contingency. The Town Board approved Resolution #124 authorizing Blanchard to proceed with contracting Great Lakes Recreation to install the equipment at Meadowlark/Meadowbrook Park, not to exceed $25,500.

Blanchard said the Highway Department will do excavation and removal of existing equipment and that he will contact the Town insurance company and the NYS Playground Board to determine if a third-party audit is necessary. The 2026 budget includes $80,000 allocated for new playground equipment, though Blanchard said there is not enough time to complete additional purchases in 2026.
