Commissioner asks that Duke Power zoning letter about two proposed plants be placed in the public record

Commissioner Jones asked that the board place into the public record a request from Duke Power concerning zoning interpretation for two proposed power plants in Davie County. He said the letter was sent to staff and forwarded to the commissioners and explicitly asked that the letter be included in the minutes so it is available as the board begins formal discussions.

The chair and other commissioners signaled agreement to include the letter in the public record; no substantive debate on the plants took place at the work session and Jones said he did not want to debate Duke Power's position at this time, only to record the request in the minutes for future review.
