Board approves broad consent agenda including grants, contracts and bridge projects

The board adopted a multi-item consent agenda covering scores of budget amendments, grants, contracts and administrative resolutions. Items announced in the meeting included amendments for the Clean Communities program, a homeless shelter award of approximately $1,155,500, VOCA program funding of about $179,930, STOP Violence Against Women funding of $51,980, and local bridge fund projects with awards in the seven-figure range for specific road/bridge replacements.

The consent agenda also included multiple contract renewals and non-fair-and-open awards for software maintenance, language interpretation services, corrections medical services and other county needs. Commissioners voted to approve the entire slate by recorded consent; no individual consent item drew sustained debate at the meeting.
