Oneida County authorizes recruitment for Planning and Zoning director; new finance director to start July 20

Lueneburg reported that Heather Marheine will begin as the county's new Finance Director on Monday, July 20, 2026. He also said the Planning and Zoning Director position is open and that the current director has a tentative retirement date of August 31, 2026. The committee discussed recruitment options and directed the Human Resource Director to pursue posting and candidate outreach, including using LinkedIn.

The committee approved a motion (Fried/Cushing) authorizing the Human Resource Director to recruit for the Planning and Zoning Director vacancy with initial funding to come from the Planning and Zoning Department; if that funding was not available, funding would be determined by the committee. The motion carried unanimously.
