Parker commissioners set Aug. 10 work session to plan skate park; no funding in this year's budget

The commission discussed forming a small subcommittee or holding a public work session to plan a new skate park and selected Aug. 10 for a 4–5 p.m. work session ahead of the regular meeting. Staff outlined possible locations including Western Park, Main Street Park, Pop Harvey and the city park; retention basins and privately constrained lots were discussed and flagged as more costly or hydrologically challenging.

Commissioners were clear that no skate-park construction is funded in this year's budget and that any project would require grant applications or budgeting in a future fiscal cycle. The board encouraged outreach to community members and said a short, targeted subcommittee or public work session would be the next step to gather input and identify viable sites.
