Council approves road striping contract and asks DPW to coordinate markings at problem intersections

The council voted to award the UEZ thermoplastic striping contract to Denver Line Painting Inc. (Resolution 26:318) as part of a package of public-works items approved July 21. During the roll call discussion, council members pointed to missing stop signs and omitted lane arrows at specific intersections and asked the traffic director to follow up.

"They put the lines on the street, but there's no stop sign on the post," Councilwoman Cotton said, urging the DPW to inspect Mercer and Lawrence streets. Vice President Davila asked Director Rodriguez to ensure arrows and directional markings are reinstalled where paving and previous work left incomplete elements.

The contract is funded with UEZ grant money according to council discussion. Members also asked the administration to coordinate utilities and paving schedules before resurfacing projects to avoid repeated pavement work.
