Dare County staff say quotes pending for ballot-on-demand equipment; launch eyed after November municipal election

Director Kelly told the board she has not yet received quotes from two vendor representatives for ballot-on-demand equipment and related carts and supplies, and that she will follow up if quotes are not received by the following Monday. She said the office does not plan to launch the new equipment until after the municipal election, targeted for Nov. 27.

"I have not received a quote from either of the two vendor representatives," Kelly said, adding that once quotes are in she will consult with finance about whether to allocate current line items or wait for next year's budget. The board did not take any purchase action during the meeting; Kelly said she will report back when vendor pricing and options are available.

The discussion flagged potential budget timing issues — Kelly said the purchase could be delayed to the July budget cycle next year if funds are not available in current line items — and emphasized staff will return to the board with options once vendor quotes are obtained.
