Board hears staff expect write-in candidate to be certified for Board of Education District 3

Director Kelly told the board staff had completed petition checking for a write-in candidate for Board of Education District 3 and said she felt confident the petition would be certified, noting the deadline to file the petition with the state is Aug. 5.

"Based on what we've received and checked, I feel confident that that petition will be certified," Kelly said. The board was told sworn filing ended July 6 with two people filing for two available seats; the write-in will appear on the contest if certification is completed. No formal action was taken at the meeting regarding the write-in.
