Commissioners hear Pisga Electrical plan to expand in Beaver Dam with 38 new jobs

At the July 20 meeting, staff described Pisga (presented as Pisga/Pisca/Pisa in the record) Electrical Services’ proposal to build a flex facility in Beaver Dam Industrial Park that would house offices, training and warehouse space. Hannah White summarized the proposal as creating 38 new jobs over five years with an average annual wage just under $59,000 and a projected $218,000 in local tax revenue over 10 years, figures staff said exceeded the $150,000 appraised value of the parcel.

Chris Ash, who identified himself as a Haywood County‑based owner of the electrical, plumbing and technology branches, said the company employs about 75 people overall and that 35 are already Haywood residents: “We’re very excited about this opportunity,” he told commissioners as he described headquarters and growth plans. Commissioners praised local ownership and said staff will return a resolution and the economic‑development agreement at the August meeting, including standard recapture language and a five‑year construction/beneficial‑occupancy compliance schedule.
