Akron police report backlog in LEAN records system, cameras aid park break-in response

Police Chief D. Danielson told the Village of Akron council that the department is "definitely staying busy" and that work is underway to bring the LEAN records system up to date. "The LEAN needs to be done, it has not been done since 2017," he said; the LEAN is used for running licenses and checking for missing or outstanding items and Chief Danielson said he and J. Holsapple will work together to obtain needed access tokens.

Chief Danielson also said he has completed EMR medical training and reported that cameras at the park were useful after a break-in, helping to identify the person involved who was then "dealt with sufficiently." The council discussed installing new cameras in the park later in the meeting and a resident offered to do trenching at no cost to the village.
