Residents say contractor communication has been inconsistent during Richmond waterline work

Maria Brown, a Richmond resident, told the commission she and neighbors relied on weekly project notices that did not always reflect actual work locations. "Last week it said there would be work on Cochran and there wasn't," she said, and described tenants moving in on Aug. 3 who cannot be blocked from driveways.

Staff responded that the contractor's foreman, Adam, had been notified about a broken mailbox and inappropriate language from crew members and that the town would press the contractor for better door notices and pothole maintenance. Commissioners agreed to schedule a follow-up with senior contractor staff to improve communications and to consider having a commissioner join a meeting with the contractor and engineer.
