Attorneys place settlement on record in long‑open estate; court adjourns to allow sale and accounting

At a Lenawee County probate hearing attorneys placed a settlement on the record in the long‑open estate of Catherine Louise Walter, telling the court title has been attached to a manufactured home and a signed purchase agreement was presented. Park Bergman summarized the settlement terms and said closing must occur by Sept. 30; counsel agreed that once the sale closes an accounting will be prepared and distributions made per the will and trust documents.

Bergman also said two burial plots would be deeded to a representative of a deceased family member as part of the agreed distribution. Counsel agreed to prepare a stipulated order that will include the adjournment and settlement terms. The judge set an adjourned hearing for Wednesday, Oct. 7 at 11:30 a.m. to permit the closing and allow counsel to file the accounting and proposed distributions for review.
