Residents press township for repairs after retention‑pond failures; developer commits temporary fixes

Residents from Oyster Mill Road told the board their road and private properties continue to be damaged by stormwater from a nearby retention pond and pressed for immediate repairs.

Amy Burkheimer presented video and testimony, saying the 2012 storm‑water maintenance agreement required semiannual inspections and that inspection reports could not be located. "These repairs are a need, not a want," she said, and urged the board not to allow the developer to control the timeline for fixes.

Township staff and the solicitor reported the developer submitted a re‑engineered plan the previous day and that the township engineer approved it; the developer had ordered permanent components but committed to install a temporary structure for the Wurn Alley Basin while parts are delivered. Solicitor Coin indicated the temporary fix should be installed "relatively soon," with staff adding the developer said it would be within two weeks of their meeting.

The board asked staff to forward the township’s cost estimate (staff cited roughly $10,000 in immediate roadway repairs) to the developer for review and to continue coordinating with FEMA where applicable. No enforcement judgment or penalty was adopted at the July 15 meeting.
