Angela Mitchi, Buxton’s business office manager and motor-vehicle agent, told the board the town completed a one-year swap of specialty plates to the pine-tree plate and noted a change to how camper/trailer sizing is calculated — now by length rather than MSRP. Mitchi said that change can substantially reduce first-year registration charges for newer campers and gave a 30-foot example that reduced an example fee from $1,200 to $96 for the first year.
Mitchi also reported a temporary delay in ATD sticker deliveries that has limited renewals to new registrations only; she said stickers are expected by next week. She confirmed 2027 tax bills are being prepared for mid-to-late August, announced Buxton’s parade on Aug. 1 (lineup 10:00 a.m., kickoff 11:00 a.m.) and described a new little free library at town hall. On social services, Mitchi said the town-run food shelf is seeing regular use and staff are arranging donations to replenish supplies.
