Zoning Commission approves map amendment for Florida and Q Street LLC on 3‑2 vote

The District of Columbia Zoning Commission took final action July 20 to approve zoning commission case 25-15, a map amendment requested by Florida and Q Street LLC to rezone 1600 North Capitol Street NW (Square 3100 Lot 48) from MU4 to MU7B. After the motion and a second, staff conducted a roll‑call vote and recorded the result as 3 to 2 in favor of final action.

Chair Anthony Hood said his earlier comments from the proposed action remained applicable as the commission moved to final. The record includes an NCPC report (exhibit 35) submitted after the June 11 meeting stating the proposed map amendment "would not be inconsistent with the federal elements or the comprehensive plan and would not adversely affect any other identified federal interests," a point Michelle Lovick read into the record before the vote. The staff roll call recorded three yes votes and two no votes; staff recorded the final action as approved.
