Board advances multiple technology and conduct policies; dress‑code revision approved on second read

Administration asked the board to rescind JFC and JFC‑R (student use of privately owned electronic devices) because of a state‑mandated policy (JICJ) and recommended cross‑reference and content updates. The board moved to resend/rescind the older policies and to revise JICJ; a motion was seconded and approved to advance the items.

The administration also presented a revision to GCSA/GCSA‑R to require staff to use school‑issued devices during school time (the stated rationale: cyber security and protecting staff personal information). Two new policies were presented for first read: GBCC (employee use of cell phones and other electronic devices) and ECA (video surveillance on school property), with explanations about allowed classroom and bus video uses, posting and access rules, and responsibilities for reviewing footage.

On second read the board approved dress‑code policy JICA, which adds a definition for prohibited items of clothing (including two‑tops and certain muscle shirts). Board members thanked the students and families who advocated for the change and commended the administration and policy committee for clarifying ambiguous language.
