Dr. Hasenauer briefed the committee that the district revised policy I K A D D and related administrative rules and exhibits to incorporate eligibility changes introduced in House Bill 5073. “The eligibility requirements for students to be eligible to participate in content and credit recovery, those have changed,” she said, and the district added the state's language into its eligibility standards.
She said the district removed a prior policy requirement that students score a 50 or higher to qualify for credit recovery because the state removed that grade floor. “We have removed that because the state has removed the grade floor,” Dr. Hasenauer said. The update emphasizes that students must complete classroom assignments consistent with district expectations to be eligible for credit recovery.
Committee members asked whether student‑athletes would receive any advantage; staff answered no and cautioned that the NCAA does not always accept credit‑recovery work. The committee recorded these policy updates as informational and confirmed the items will advance to the full board for consideration.
