Bear Valley Unified announces multiple new hires across schools and district fiscal team

The Bear Valley Unified School District announced a slate of new personnel across its schools, naming several classified and certificated hires for the coming year. Among the appointments announced were ELL/instructional aide Cynthia Rojas Chacone; classroom transition hire B D Salinas Dominguez; Montessori aides Brendan Hanneman and Catherine Vasquez; special-education aides Don Winger and My Devora; TK instructional aide Ernestina Valenzuela; fiscal staff hire Teresa Stanford; Big Bear High School math teacher Young So (Harry) Kim; and board-certified behavior analyst Geneva Leon returning to serve students across the district.

Superintendent Collins described the district as "in full force trying to prepare for the new year," thanked staff (singling out Craig and his team) for creating new classroom space and site improvements, and noted work such as new grass in front of the high school. The hires were presented as part of routine personnel actions and were included on the consent calendar approved earlier in the meeting.

Several speakers welcomed the new employees and described their backgrounds: the record notes candidates' experience in special education, bilingual instruction, and fiscal services. The board offered applause for Teresa Stanford's appointment to the fiscal team and expressed anticipation that the hires would strengthen classroom support and district operations.
