City crews remove 30+ ash trees and plan closures for incoming bike event

City street department staff reported that D&J's Tree Service removed more than 30 ash trees from the west side of the walking trail and that logs remain to be collected. Staff said east-side work will be scheduled when budget allows.

Staff also said the city is coordinating with the street crew to block roads and reroute traffic for an incoming bike event next week. "We're going to reroute some traffic... we'll get that out tomorrow," one staff member said, adding that Highway 30 ramp closures are planned and staff will post a route map on the city website. Council members said they will notify residents and that Emily will post details on the website once available.
