The Village Board approved a conditional use permit and site plan for Freedom Fellowship Church to operate a worship facility at N168 W20160 Main Street following a public hearing on July 14.
Attorney Michael Kaiman spoke for the church and asked that the conditional use cover the same parcel or parcels as prior approval. Zoning staff (Colin) explained that the property predates the current planned-unit development (PUD) zoning and that the village's past practice had not always produced stand-alone conditional use permits for that site; he did not anticipate new conflicts with the continued use as a worship center. The board moved and approved the conditional use request and site plan by voice vote.
The record shows discussion about parcel numbering and whether the parsonage and church parcels were correctly noticed; staff confirmed the GIS exhibit used in the packet showed 20160 as the church and that the item had been correctly noticed for discussion and action. No public opposition was recorded during the hearing; the motion to approve came from Heckendorf and was seconded by Kurtz.
