Putnam County advances multiple code‑enforcement cases; sanctions begin on repeat property

Putnam County Commission on July 14 accepted and filed multiple code‑enforcement complaints and took a sanctions step on a repeat noncompliant property.

Caitlyn presented several Daye and DA cases. The commission accepted and filed Daye case 2025‑22 (139 Tiger Lane, Scott Depot) after finding little progress toward compliance since a November referral. The commission also accepted and filed DA case 2025‑31 (36 Lena Road, Poca) where the estate representative lives out of state and has not made progress toward cleanup.

On DA case 2025‑38 (2987 McLean Pike, Red House), staff reported minimal progress since a previous 60‑day order. Commissioners discussed whether the property owner, identified in the transcript as Daryl Danberry, required assistance; after discussion the commission voted to begin sanctions of $100 per day until corrective action is taken and asked staff to draft the order. Caitlyn also presented DA case 2026‑01 (13850 Roosevelt Blvd, Red House); the commission accepted and filed that complaint as well.

Caitlyn reported that DIA case 2026‑05 (3 Carriage Way, Hurricane) appears to be back in compliance after recent work; the commission voted to dismiss that complaint.

Commission action included motions to accept and file complaints, start sanctions on the repeat case, and dismiss the compliant case. Staff noted legal notifications and administrative timelines will follow.
