Audubon reports jump in AP success; three classes achieve 100% pass rate

Audubon Public School District Superintendent Miss Allen reported a substantial increase in Advanced Placement performance, saying 83 students took a total of 144 AP exams and “the percent of students that received a three, four or five is 80%,” an improvement from 50% in 2022 and 74% last year. The district plans a formal recognition in September for teachers and students.

Miss Allen named three classes that posted perfect pass rates: AP Chemistry with Mr. Harter, AP pre‑calculus with Mr. McKe, and AP English Language and Composition with Miss Morrison. “All three of those teachers had 100% of their students pass the AP exam,” she said. A parent in the meeting later praised the district’s outreach when assistant principals personally called families of students who passed, describing the calls as a “touching gesture.”

The board discussed follow‑up reporting and a planned presentation by Mr. Burke on AP data in August or September to show disaggregated performance and growth trends. Board members also flagged alignment questions between in‑person and Option 2/online AP coursework, with one member urging consistent midterm and grading expectations across delivery models.
