Public commenter urges council to prioritize transit in SB63 funding; resident thanks city LGA program

During public comment, Judy Berantos, president of ATU Local 1605 and a County Connection operator, urged the council to prioritize transit when SB63 funds are distributed and to ensure County Connection service is restored and funded. "I ask you guys to pay attention and make sure that those funds are moved or those funds are for transit first… There's money to be coming in every single year about 26 to $29 million," Berantos said, citing anticipated revenue and urging prioritization for frequent, reliable transit service.

Earlier, LGA participant Eric Simpson thanked staff for the Local Government Academy and praised the chance to learn city government functions. Council members acknowledged the transit comments and noted CCTA is working on distribution plans; staff said they would follow up as regional allocations are finalized.
