McMahon Wittenberry remains open amid exterior renovation; grand opening targeted for March 2027

Library leadership told trustees that McMahon Wittenberry Library is staying open while exterior renovation work continues and that staff are coordinating parking and logistics during construction.

"McMahon Wittenberry Library is open during this entire process," Elizabeth said, noting the library is using the BPL Fire Department parking lot during construction and that visitation numbers remain steady. She said the Library Building Committee will finalize elements of the exterior renovation at a meeting and the team hopes the project, including some landscaping, will be substantially complete by early school year with a formal grand opening around March 17, 2027.

Trustees discussed project management capacity following recent retirements in public works and whether remaining funds could be shifted between Prosser and McMahon Wittenberry projects. The committee expects to continue convening monthly special meetings through project completion.
