Sheriff reports 845 inmates as board approves Aramark amendment for jail food services

Sheriff Bailey addressed the board with the county jail population and classifications: "Total inmate count 845, 91 misdemeanors, eight federal inmates, 271 state, 129 of those are ready to go," he reported. The figures also included 11 juveniles at the adult detention center and 15 at youth detention.

Shortly afterward the board authorized the board president to execute an amendment to the contract with Aramark Correctional Services LLC for food services at the Adult Detention Center and Juvenile Detention Center. The motion was moved, seconded, and approved by voice vote. No specific dollar amounts for the amendment were read into the record during the meeting; supervisors recorded the approval and moved on to other business.
