Board hears multiple facilities updates: sign replacement, restrooms, drainage and parking concerns

Daryl provided a multi-item facilities update covering signage, restroom renovations, drainage and site cleanup. He said the main sign is 18 years old and that the district plans to replace it with LED upgrades and repaint the base; one section of the existing sign is not working and replacement parts were not available.

Daryl said the football restrooms are being renovated (floor drains installed, demolition and painting underway) and that French drains were installed at both ends of the football field to improve water runoff. He described a recent surprise inspection that required removal of pallets and debris (including potentially treated lumber) from a ditch and that the district hauled the material off rather than burn it on site.

Work on a roadway curve into the football field was completed with new rock; an overgrown hill behind the field was leveled for mowing. Gym floors have been resealed and look good, and entryway sealing is underway. Daryl raised a significant maintenance concern about the student parking lot, reporting persistent groundwater/spring issues that leave standing water and mineral staining; he warned that repeatedly repaving without addressing the water will lead to recurring failures and higher long-term costs.
