Project manager: substantial completion Dec. 17; move-in and first day of school set for winter 2027 window

Project staff told the committee the construction schedule remains focused on a Dec. 17 substantial completion date and described a move-in and occupancy plan spanning December 2026 through February 2027.

The project manager said substantial completion is targeted for Dec. 17. Staff training and system activation will follow; move-in dates were listed as Dec. 18, 2026 through Feb. 11, 2027, with staff unpacking around Feb. 11 and the first day of school on Feb. 22, 2027. Phase 2 substantial-completion (demo and fields) was referenced with a later date for follow-on work.

Committee members discussed logistics including a soft opening/open house for the community, timing of a formal ribbon-cutting ceremony (committee members suggested an official event in the fall and a soft opening before school starts), move-management coordination meetings starting in August, and compensation or scheduling for staff who might need to move during school vacation periods.

Project staff also reviewed on-site progress photos showing drywall finishing, auditorium and gym work, and new fencing along the retaining wall. Staff noted that the team had been progressing quickly week-to-week and that final cleaning and punch-list work were underway.
