The Washington County Board of Education held a special-called meeting May 29 at the Washington County High School Library Media Center in Springfield, Ky., and approved two travel requests for Washington County High School extracurricular teams. The items recorded in the minutes were a trip for the WCHS Commander Archery team to the 2026 NASP Worlds Championship in Daytona Beach and approval for up to two qualifying students from the WCHS Commander Bass Fishing team to attend the Bass Fishing High School National Championship at Lake Cumberland.
The minutes list Curtis Hamilton as board chair and J. Robin Filiatreau Cochran, Ed.D., as board secretary. The motions for both travel requests were moved by Sherri Cheser; Carissa Harley seconded the archery motion and Jeremy Thompson seconded the bass-fishing motion. Both motions carried by a 4-0 vote among members present. The meeting was adjourned at 6:04 PM under Bd. #26-052.
