The Beacon Falls Board of Finance voted unanimously June 22 to approve budget transfers for two fiscal years and to send larger line-item changes to a townwide meeting.
J. Carroll, chair of the Beacon Falls Board of Finance, opened the special meeting at 6:00 p.m. and introduced proposed transfers: FY2027 transfers totaling $15,000 and FY2026 transfers totaling $209,329.80. Carroll said any transfer that increases a budget line by more than $20,000 must be placed on a Town Meeting agenda; he said such items will appear at the Town Meeting scheduled for Aug. 10, 2026.
K. Brennan moved to approve the FY2026 and FY2027 transfers as presented; B. Catanzaro seconded. With four members present (Carroll, Brennan, Lembo and Catanzaro) and two absent, the board recorded an affirmative vote from all members present.
The board did not detail individual line items in the meeting transcript; the totals were recorded in the meeting minutes. No members of the public were recorded in attendance at the special meeting.
Next steps: transfers that exceed the $20,000 threshold will be included on the Aug. 10, 2026 Town Meeting agenda for final voter action.
