At its July 15 meeting the Richardson County Board of Commissioners approved several routine contracts, funding requests and payments.
The Board accepted a Hayden Tower Service, Inc. quote of $3,577.50 to remove a damaged antenna from the courthouse roof after Brian Kirkendall, the county EMA director, said the bent antenna posed a risk of falling. Commissioner Caverzagie moved to approve the quote; the motion passed 3-0.
The Board also accepted the low bid of Justin Vonderschmidt for $5,752.00 to repair outside drains at the courthouse, rejecting a higher bid from Sojka’s Plumbing. Commissioner Caverzagie moved to accept Vonderschmidt’s bid; the motion passed on a 3-0 roll call vote.
Commissioners approved funding for the Southeast Nebraska Development District: Campbell moved to accept the 2025 annual report and to approve membership and housing dues of $6,634.00; the motion passed 3-0.
The Board approved payment of all claims submitted at the meeting. The published claim lists show a total General Fund payout of $45,209.99 and a Road & Bridge Fund payout of $64,689.48, for combined listed claims of $109,899.47; line-item vendor lists were made available for public inspection at the County Clerk’s office.
The Board also heard routine Road & Bridge updates — crews cleaning ditches, bridge repairs and nearing completion of the Dawson NW project — and completed the quarterly jail inspection, finding the facility in good order. The meeting adjourned at 10:59 a.m. and the Board set its next meeting for July 22, 2026.
