During public comment on July 22, two residents urged council attention to neighborhood issues.
Celine Pineda spoke on behalf of her father at 121252 15th Street, Hawaiian Gardens, saying he has received multiple parking citations while other vehicles that are parked incorrectly did not receive citations. Pineda said she has dated photos and times showing the incidents and asked the city to investigate enforcement practices; the mayor responded that staff would look into the matter and follow up.
A community organizer requested council support for an upcoming powwow scheduled for Aug. 22–23, asked that council members help solicit donations from local businesses and county supervisors, and invited volunteers for trail restoration and program participation. The speaker noted previous donations and a local meeting scheduled for the next day at 5:30 p.m.
These comments were part of the public-comment period; council acknowledged both concerns and said staff would follow up as appropriate.
