Trustee Erica told the board on July 20 that an opportunity has prompted her family's relocation to North Carolina and that she will step down from the Hendrick Hudson Board of Education effective Aug. 10, 2026.
"Serving on the board of Ed has been one of the greatest honors of my life," Erica said, describing nearly 25 years of ties to the district and calling her board service a privilege. She said she is proud of the board's policy work and of having advocated for students.
President Silverman and other trustees offered thanks and praise for Erica's service, noting her leadership on policy review and contributions across committees. "Your fingerprints are on so much of what will carry this district forward," President Silverman said.
The board said it will begin reviewing options under state law and district policy to determine next steps for filling the vacancy created by Erica's departure; no formal action to appoint or nominate a successor was recorded during the meeting.
Routine business during the meeting included approval of the agenda and the consent agenda by voice votes and the meeting adjourned by motion. No public comments were received during the meeting.
