Howard Council on Aging reorganizes; Jen Olinda elected chair

The Howard Council on Aging held its annual July reorganization at the Howard Community Center and unanimously elected new officers.

A member nominated Jen Olinda for chair during the reorganization required by the town charter, and the nomination was seconded and approved by voice vote. After the chair election the board opened nominations for vice chair and clerk. Sheila was nominated and unanimously elected clerk. The board also unanimously approved the minutes of the June 17 meeting earlier in the session.

Board members were reminded that the town is offering chair-focused ethics training and that the town clerk will circulate details; members were encouraged to attend the August 4 sessions. The board confirmed it will continue to meet on the third Wednesday of each month.

Actions taken at the meeting were procedural: approval of prior minutes and the election of board officers. No formal policy changes were adopted; members discussed implementation steps for ongoing items and assigned follow-ups to staff.
