Selectboard raises ambulance rates, approves E‑911 road rename, community coin drop and settlement

The Town of Richford Selectboard met on Jan. 19, 2026, and unanimously approved several motions including an increase in the town's ambulance rates, a road-name change for E‑911, and a community coin drop to benefit the local food shelf. The board later authorized a settlement agreement for 475 Troy Street after an executive session.

Selectwoman Sherry Paquette moved to approve the Jan. 5, 2026 meeting minutes; Selectman Andy Pond seconded and the motion passed unanimously. Paquette then moved to approve a coin drop request from resident Ronica Terrier to support the food shelf on the last Saturday of March from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in front of the fire station; Selectman Alan Fletcher seconded and the motion passed unanimously.

Lister Eric Collins proposed renaming the left fork of Nickson Road to East Nickson Road to clarify E‑911 addressing. Chair Steinhour moved to approve the change and Selectwoman Paquette seconded; the motion passed unanimously.

Under Other Business the board discussed local ambulance billing and, noting that Richford’s rates were lower than surrounding towns, voted to increase the town’s ambulance rates effective Jan. 19, 2026. Selectwoman Paquette made the motion and Chair Steinhour seconded; the motion passed unanimously.

Later the board entered executive session for personnel and contracts at 6:00 p.m. and returned at 6:29 p.m. Following the closed session, Chair Steinhour moved to move forward with a settlement agreement for 475 Troy Street; Selectman Pond seconded and the motion passed unanimously.
