Board approves sliding-gate plan for 136 Gorman Street with staff conditions

The Junta Asesora Técnica y de Cumplimiento Histórica approved a property application for 136 Gorman Street on May 22, allowing a wall and a single sliding gate with staff conditions, the board said.

Chair summarized the staff recommendation and the stipulations: the fence must not exceed the approved height limit and access shall be installed on the northeast side of the property. Staff noted a letter from the Dignity Hill neighborhood association was in the file.

When asked by commissioners whether the applicant accepted the conditions, staff and the record indicated the applicant agreed to restrict the project to one sliding gate. A commissioner confirmed the height limitation; staff said the 4-foot maximum had been part of the recommendation. “Lo único que originalmente ... no estábamos recomendando era las 2 puertas de acceso a la entrada,” the Chair stated while explaining the stipulation on a single access.

A motion to accept the staff recommendation was made and seconded. The board recorded a roll-call vote in favor (Davis, García, Ricardo, Spieler, Fullerton, Pollock, Spitz, Vásquez) and the motion passed. The board’s approval is conditioned on the staff stipulations recorded in the case file.

The board proceeded to its next agenda items after the vote.
