Trustees appoint Scheffler to chair meeting; minutes and liaison appointments approved

Trustees on the Carlsbad Library Board voted to appoint Trustee Scheffler to chair the July 22 meeting after the chair and vice chair were absent. The clerk recorded the motion as approved "4 to 1 with vice chair Wiedelik absent."

The board also approved routine minutes for April 22 and May 27, 2026. Trustee Laufer made the motion to approve the April minutes and Trustee McBride seconded; the presiding officer announced the April minutes were approved (recorded as unanimous with Trustee Waladeck absent). The May minutes were likewise moved by Trustee Laufer, seconded by Trustee McBride, and approved unanimously.

Separately, the board accepted volunteers to serve as its representative to the Carlsbad Library and Arts Foundation (CLAF). Trustee Laufer moved to appoint the volunteer and Trustee McBride seconded; the motion passed unanimously, with the presiding officer announcing the result.

Meeting minutes and official appointments were recorded by the clerk at the meeting. The session adjourned at 4:40 p.m.
