The Adair County Board of Supervisors on July 15 approved Resolution No. 2026-43, which names authorized county depositories and adjusts the maximum deposit limits held at several banks.
Treasurer Brenda Wallace presented the semi-annual financial report and the board voted to accept it and directed the county auditor to publish the report. The board then considered the depository resolution, which among other updates increased the cap for FNB Bank in Greenfield from $30,000,000 to $35,000,000 and raised the maximum for the Iowa Public Agency Investment Trust (custodied at Wells Fargo Bank, N.A., Des Moines) from $10,000,000 to $25,000,000. Other depositories and limits listed in the resolution include Farmers and Merchants State Bank (Winterset/Orient/Greenfield) at $10,000,000; Rolling Hills Bank & Trust (Stuart) at $6,000,000; Union State Bank (Greenfield) at $6,000,000; and First State Bank (Stuart) at $6,000,000. The resolution passed on a roll-call vote with Supervisors Walker, Christoffersen, Baier, Hoadley and Wedemeyer recorded as "aye." The resolution is recorded as Resolution No. 2026-43.
During routine business the board also approved the posted agenda, accepted the minutes from its July 8 meeting, and approved claims totaling $1,471.57, including payments listed to Alliant Energy ($117.70), Auxiant HRA Ins Trust ($1,200.56), and Windstream/Uniti ($153.31).
County Auditor Ruthie Smith asked the board to begin the hiring process to fill a vacant auditor clerk position; the board authorized starting the hiring process on a motion by Supervisor Hoadley, seconded by Christoffersen. No salary or timeline details were provided.
The meeting minutes list Supervisors Hoadley, Christoffersen, Walker and Wedemeyer as present; a roll-call vote on the depository resolution and subsequent roll calls record Supervisor Nathan Baier as participating and voting "aye."
