Centerville council approves routine minutes, claims, vehicle purchases and a sewer billing adjustment

The Centerville Town Council on March 10 approved a series of routine items and procurement requests, including minutes, claims, a police vehicle purchase and a wastewater billing adjustment.

The meeting opened with procedural business: the council approved Feb. 10 and Feb. 24 minutes after motions and roll-call votes, certified claims and carried a motion to approve them.

During departmental reports, the police department presented vehicle procurement options after a quoted Tahoe price exceeded expectations. The police representative said officers reported positive experiences with the Ford Explorer and presented a Greenwood Ford quote for a 2026 police-package Explorer priced at $25,314.68. The council moved, seconded and approved the purchase pending bond/financing confirmation.

The council also considered a separate Kelly Chevrolet quote for a 2025 Silverado. Staff confirmed financing and a discussion noted a 60‑day hold on quotes pending financing approval; the council approved the $59,649 purchase request by roll call.

Other routine business included approval of a billing adjustment and the allowance report. The council approved a wastewater billing adjustment of $120.24 for a single account after staff described the period and the absence of sewer flow for the interval in question.

Members also discussed local transportation funding proposals at the state level and scheduled a council work session for March 24 at 7 p.m. in the council room. The council then adjourned the meeting by roll call.
