Lyme Select Board approves list of materials to be removed from 116 Dorchester Road; staff to send owners letter

The Lyme Select Board voted unanimously July 15 to approve a list and map of materials at 116 Dorchester Road that the board says should be removed to bring the property into compliance with applicable law and court orders.

Select Board member David Kahn told the board he and Mr. Henriques visited the property on July 9, 2026, walked the site and identified items they believe should be removed. Kahn moved to approve the list and map as presented, subject to follow-up discussions with Town Counsel on a few details; Select Board member Michael Hinsley seconded. The motion passed unanimously.

The board directed Kahn to consult with Town Counsel and to draft a letter to the property owners that will enclose the list and map of materials to be removed. The board said it is open to hearing from the owners if they identify a reasonably limited number of items on the list that they would like to retain.

During public comment, Matha Smith said the log truck on the property "does run" and that she believes the mobile home should remain because she has paid property taxes on it for years. Rich Brown asked whether the list and map could be posted on the Town of Lyme website; Select Board member David Kahn said the document is a public record and will be available for public viewing in the Select Board office.

At 10:20 AM the board voted to enter nonpublic session under RSA 91A:3 II (c) to discuss reputational matters; attendees for that session included Kilham, Hinsley, Kahn, Joshua Malone and Jordan Gray. The board returned to public session at 10:40 AM, having taken no votes in nonpublic session, and adjourned at 10:40 AM.

Next steps recorded in the minutes are Kahn's consultation with Town Counsel and the mailing of the owners' letter enclosing the list and map.
