On July 8 the Roxbury Village School Committee reviewed and amended its FY27 meeting calendar to avoid holiday-week meetings and approved the schedule unanimously. The committee also moved to organize its work into three focused working groups.
Committee member Kristen Getler proposed grouping work into three "buckets." Members self-assigned: a Finance team (Jim Rogler, Heidi Albright) to handle budgeting and a business plan; a Use and Management team (Heather Holter and Judy Lusk, with Heidi assisting on policies) with a stated interest in pursuing child care; and a Facility and Maintenance team (Bob Ketchel by proxy and Kristen Getler). Tom Frazier was listed as an unknown for team assignment.
The committee reviewed treasurer responsibilities and agreed by consensus that the finance team will perform the treasurer's tasks rather than appoint a separate treasurer. The finance team will request an RVS financial report ahead of each meeting. Judy Lusk expressed frustration about the time spent on process; Heather Holter said she would follow up with the Secretary of State office to clarify open-meeting-law distinctions to ensure compliance with OML.
Work groups were instructed to meet and develop draft goals and timelines to present at the committee's next meeting.
