Avon Board of Zoning Appeals adopts findings for two cases after residents raise development, plan concerns

The Avon Board of Zoning Appeals met July 21, 2026, at Avon Town Hall and approved findings of fact for two previously heard cases, the board record shows. Chair Marcus Turner opened the meeting at 6:30 p.m. and the session adjourned at 7:00 p.m.

Member Kathryn Ransburg moved to approve the June 16, 2026 meeting minutes subject to clarification of attendance; Vice Chair Anne Inman seconded and the motion passed 4-0. The board then heard two public comments. Resident Adrian Panko of 1650 S. Co. Rd. 450 E. raised concerns about possible development of properties surrounding his area. Resident Vada Mulinix of 1738 S. Co. Rd. 450 E. asked the board to uphold the current Comprehensive Plan in her neighborhood.

In old business the board approved Findings of Fact for VAR 26-03 (Wright's Gymnastics). Member Kathryn Ransburg moved to adopt the findings; Vice Chair Anne Inman seconded and the motion carried 4-0. The board also adopted the Findings of Fact for SE 26-01 (Wash N Roll) after a motion by Member Kathryn Ransburg and a second by Member Marci Taschler; that motion likewise passed 4-0. The record for SE 26-01 includes enumerated draft points that staff and the board referenced during the item.

No requests for continuances or agenda modifications were offered. There was no new business or other business reported, and the meeting concluded with signatures recorded in the draft minutes.

Attendance noted four voting members present (Marcus Turner, Anne Inman, Kathryn Ransburg and Marci Taschler) and one member absent (Paul Guckenberger). Town staff listed in the record included Linda Ahlbrand and Paul Lambie; Dan Taylor is recorded as legal counsel.
