Fulshear council approves design work for 1M‑gallon McKinnon elevated storage tank

The Fulshear City Council on July 21 authorized design work for a 1,000,000‑gallon elevated storage tank (EST) at the McKinnon water plant, a project city staff says will provide additional potable water capacity and pressure for anticipated growth.

Staff described the EST as part of the adopted water/wastewater master plan dating to 2021 and said the tank will be built on a 1.3‑acre city‑owned site at Bodark and McKinnon. Staff told council the preferred approach is to add capacity rather than demolish existing tanks and that the project will be coordinated with the utility master plan and upcoming budget allocations.

Council voted to approve the design agreement; staff said the project will return with budget implications and timing details as the design and procurement process proceeds.
