Sierra Club asks Carlsbad for list of municipal sites being considered for solar-plus-battery projects

Paige Decino, speaking for the Sierra Club, asked the council for information about potential municipal properties under consideration as alternatives to the Merkle Reservoir site, which the council previously declined. "Last year, the council voted down installing solar plus battery at the Merkle Reservoir with the intention of finding another site," Decino said. "My team would like the to see the list of potential sites under consideration at this time and the progress made to select a new site."

City staff indicated that an earlier look at the information is available through staff contact: the mayor suggested speaking with a named staff member for details outside of the council meeting. No formal agenda action was taken on the request; Decino asked that staff make the list available or give an update to the council on site‑selection progress.
