Placentia Council adopts fee updates and approves annexations for lighting, landscaping and facilities

At its July 21 meeting the Placentia City Council adopted several staff recommendations and annexation resolutions in unanimous votes.

Comprehensive fee and rate schedule (Item 2a): Staff from development services and finance presented recommended corrections to the city’s master fee schedule that addressed calculation‑baseline errors and proposed technical updates, including a modernized building valuation table and a user fee for state‑mandated housing application reviews under SB 330. Council adopted Resolution R‑2026‑51, effective in 60 days, by a 5‑0 vote.

Annexations (Items 2b–2d): Staff recommended annexing three parcels into Street Lighting District No. 81‑1 (Resolution R‑2026‑53), three parcels into Landscape Maintenance District No. 92‑1 (Resolution R‑2026‑54), and four partial parcels into Community Facilities District 2014‑01 for public services (Resolution R‑2026‑55). Staff said no special tax will be levied on the parcels at the time of annexation and that any future special tax levy would be presented later in the fiscal year. Council approved each annexation by unanimous 5‑0 votes.

Consent calendar: The consent calendar was approved 5‑0 earlier in the meeting.
